MPEG-4 Low Bit Rate Video Coding Using 2D Mesh

چکیده

In this paper, we propose an implementation method, for video coding at low bit rates, which combines MPEG-4 2D meshes and H.263 video encoding. Methods for objectbased compression and composition of natural and synthetic video content are emerging in standards like MPEG-4. In this work, we only concern about the implementation of 2D uniform meshes for coding of natural scenes. In order to achieve efficiency using this method, it is important to perform an accurate motion tracking into “M” frames, which are between (I & P H.263) anchor frames. The object motion is transmitted, as motion vectors of the mesh nodes, in a MPEG-4 type bit stream.
